Hawks host Missouri Western on Saturday

The Hawks have won four of their last five games

Rockhurst Men's Basketball hosts Missouri Western on Saturday at 2 p.m. in a key non-conference matchup at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (6-2) have won four of their last five games, including wins at William Jewell on Dec. 6 (76-59) and at home against Calvary (96-40) on Monday.

Jaylen Wesley collected 18 points, six rebounds and four steals against William Jewell. Wesley ranks second in the GLVC with a 20.6 scoring average.

Massi Malterer tallied a career-high 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals against Calvary. Wesley (15), Jaden Flournoy (12) and Drenin Dinkins (11) also scored in double figures.

Missouri Western (8-2) comes to Rockhurst on a five-game winning streak. The Griffons won 99-77 on Dec. 2 against Northwest Missouri State and defeated Emporia State, 84-74, on Dec. 6.

The Griffons hold a 35-33 lead in the all-time series and have won the last four against Rockhurst. Western picked up a 73-59 win at home over Rockhurst in their most recent meeting on Nov. 19, 2024.
