Men to face Missouri Southern, Truman State, McKendree

The Hawks face Missouri Southern, Truman State and McKendree over the next seven days

Rockhurst Men's Basketball plays three games over seven days, beginning with a trip to Missouri Southern on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The Hawks open conference play with their home opener against Truman State on Saturday at 2 p.m. and travel to McKendree next Monday at 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks (2-1) fell 85-81 to No. 2 Washburn last Wednesday. Drenin Dinkins led the Hawks with 26 points and added six rebounds. Jaylen Wesley tallied 21 points, three rebounds and three steals. Dillon Mong tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds, collecting his first career double-double.

Missouri Southern (3-1) fell to Oklahoma Baptist 94-82 last Thursday but won 114-78 over Maryville last Friday. The Lions hold a 26-23 all-time series lead over the Hawks, but Rockhurst has won the last two. Rockhurst won 106-67 on Nov. 22, 2024, at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Truman State (2-1) won 84-46 against Calvary. The Bulldogs play at Purdue Northwest on Tuesday before facing the Hawks on Saturday.

Rockhurst has won five straight over the Bulldogs, but trail 31-22 in their all-time series. The Hawks won both contests last season with wins of 90-77 in Kirksville, Missouri on Nov. 26, 2024, and 76-65 on Jan. 30 in Kansas City.

McKendree (3-0) defeated Hannibal-LaGrange, 80-39, last Friday. Before facing the Hawks, the Bearcats face Central Missouri and Concordia St. Paul at the DoubleTree by Hilton Thanksgiving Classic and travel to Maryville.

The Bearcats hold a 9-6 overall mark against Rockhurst and have won the last eight matchups. A contested layup with just three seconds left gave McKendree a 67-65 win on Feb. 27 at Mason-Halpin.
