Men return home to face Truman State, Quincy

The Hawks are 13-6 overall and 7-4 in conference play this season
Rockhurst Men's Basketball returns to Mason-Halpin Field House this week, facing Truman State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. followed by a game against Quincy on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Last week, Rockhurst (13-6, 7-4 GLVC) split their road trip against Upper Iowa and Lewis. Rockhurst fell 84-71 to Upper Iowa last Thursday.

Brian Hawthorne scored a career-high 32 points in an 86-85 comeback victory over Lewis last Saturday. Hawthorne also had seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. while Jaylen Wesley recorded 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals. 

Truman State (11-7, 5-5 GLVC) comes to Mason-Halpin on a three-game winning streak and winners of four of its last five. The Bulldogs defeated Lincoln 79-75 in overtime last Monday and got past Quincy 80-76 last Saturday.

The contest with Truman State will be a rematch, as the two teams faced off on Nov. 26 in Kirksville, Missouri to open conference play. Jesse White scored a NCAA D-II career-high 27 points to lead Rockhurst to a 90-77 victory.

With their victory earlier this season, Rockhurst is on a four-game winning streak against Truman State. Overall, the Bulldogs hold a 31-21 series lead over Rockhurst.

Quincy (8-10, 3-7 GLVC) fell 67-65 to William Jewell last Thursday and fell to Truman State 80-76 last Saturday. Before their matchup with Rockhurst on Saturday, Quincy will face Southwest Baptist on Thursday.

Quincy holds a 44-40 lead in the all-time series, while Rockhurst has won the last three. On Feb. 1, 2024, Rockhurst defeated Quincy 100-79 in their most recent matchup.
