Hawks face road games at Upper Iowa, Lewis

The Hawks are tied for third place in the GLVC with a 6-3 record
Rockhurst Men's Basketball (12-5, 6-3 GLVC) hits the road for a quick two-game road trip, as they face Upper Iowa in Fayette, Iowa on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Lewis in Romeoville, Illinois at 3:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Jaylen Wesley's 27 points and nine rebounds led Rockhurst to a 90-72 win over Indianapolis. Jesse White finished with 19 points and Dniel Carr recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season. Rockhurst fell 81-73 to Illinois Springfield last Saturday.

Upper Iowa (12-5, 6-3 GLVC) comes into its contest with Rockhurst on a three-game winning streak and winners of four out of its last five. The Peacocks won both of their games on the road last week, defeating Truman State 73-70 last Thursday and Quincy 88-78 last Saturday.

Thursday's game against Upper Iowa will be just the second between the two teams. The Peacocks won the inaugural men's basketball game against Rockhurst 87-61 on Jan. 24, 2024, at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Lewis (11-4, 6-2 GLVC) split its two games last week and had a seven-game winning streak snapped. The Flyers defeated William Jewell 67-66 last Thursday before falling to Truman State 74-72 last Saturday. 

The Flyers are winners of eight of their last 10 and will face Southwest Baptist Thursday before their matchup against the Hawks on Saturday.

The Flyers hold a 16-6 all-time lead against Rockhurst, but Rockhurst has won two of the last three. Most recently, Lewis defeated Rockhurst 86-80 on Feb. 22, 2024, in Romeoville, Illinois.
