Hawks resume conference play this weekend

The Hawks return home this weekend with an 8-3 record
Rockhurst Men's Basketball returns to Mason-Halpin Field House this weekend, facing Southwest Baptist on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and will now play Drury on Saturday at 5 p.m. instead of on Sunday afternoon due to a winter storm.

The Hawks (8-3, 2-1 GLVC) enter 2025 with their best record after 11 games since the 2001-02 season and have won six out of their last seven games.

Rockhurst last played on Dec. 20 at Emporia State. Daniel Carr's game-winning three-pointer with 11 seconds left gave the Hawks an 84-81 lead that led to an 87-84 victory over the Hornets. Five Hawks scored in double figures, led by Brian Hawthorne's 22 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Southwest Baptist (6-4, 3-1 GLVC) fell 72-65 to Newman back on Dec. 19 after winning its previous three games.

Rockhurst is 34-26 all-time against Southwest Baptist but won in their most recent matchup. The Hawks recorded a 70-69 win over the Bearcats on Feb. 10, 2024, at Mason-Halpin.

Drury (6-4, 1-2 GLVC) last played on Dec. 21, falling 89-76 to Arkansas Fort Smith. The Panthers will travel to William Jewell on Friday night before facing Rockhurst on Saturday.

The Hawks are 47-80 all-time against the Panthers but have won three of the last four meetings. Most recently, Rockhurst defeated Drury 94-67 on Feb. 8, 2024, at Mason-Halpin.

Live stats and video will be available for both games. Check the Rockhurst website for the links.
