Men open season with third-place finish in Arch Cup

The Rockhurst men's golf team finished in third place out of 12 teams at the 2024 Arch Cup at the Gateway National Golf Club in Madison, Illinois, on Tuesday.

The Hawks finished with a 36-hole score of 575 (288-287) in their first tournament of the fall season.

Senior David Schilp and freshman Kingston Solomon tied for fourth with 139 scores to earn All-Tournament honors. Schilp shot a 68 in the first round and a 71 in the second round. Solomon opened with a 73 and closed with a 66.

Drury was the team champion, winning by six shots over Missouri S&T. William Jewell's Bryson Oots was the medalist with a 135 team.

The Hawks return to action on Sept. 16 at the Bulldog Fall Classic in Big Rapids, Michigan.
