Relay teams combine for 17 points at ESU Relays

The Rockhurst men's track and field team finished in 15th place at the Emporia State Relays Thursday in Emporia, Kansas.

The Hawks' 4x200 relay and 4x800 relay teams each came in second place to combine for 16 points. The 4x400 relay also scored a point in eighth place.

Bryan Lane, Leilani Andrews, Ho-Alexander Phan and Foli Assiongbon ran on the 4x200 relay. The 4x800 team included Andrew Hartegan, Colby Goddard, Chris Oberkrom and Blake Borum.

JoManuel Ayala, Josiah Gossenauer, Ethan Beach and Marco Mathon ran on the 4x400 relay team. Phan, Andrews, Lane and Mathon were on the 4x100 relay team, which finished in ninth place.

Jack Del Vecchio posted a pair of 11th place finishes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000 meters.

Hartegan placed 24th in the 1500 meters. Oberkrom and Collin Fay finished 25th and 26th, respectively, in the 800 meters.

Andrews came in 15th in the 110-meter hurdles. Gossenauer placed 21st in the 400-meter hurdles. Cole Erusha placed 15th in the high jump and Spencer Engle came in 21st in the high jump, while Dalton Layton finished 24th in the javelin.
