Men face Manhattan Christian, Emporia State this week

The Hawks have won four of their last five games

The Rockhurst men's basketball team hosts Manhattan Christian on Monday at noon at Mason-Halpin Field House before facing Emporia State on Friday at 5 p.m. in Emporia, Kansas.

The Hawks (6-3, 2-1 GLVC) most recent game was a 97-62 win over Kansas Christian on Dec. 7. Jesse White led the Hawks with 20 points and was 4-of-4 from the 3-point line in the first half. Nico Felici added 12 points, while Arol Kacuol and Rron Thaci each scored 10 points. Rockhurst enters this week as winners of four out of its last five games.

Manhattan Christian (5-7) enters Monday's contest against Rockhurst on a two-game winning streak. The Thunder last played on Dec. 7 and won 90-69 against Faith Baptist Bible College.

The Hawks are 3-0 against the Thunder, dating back to 2019. In their most recent contest, Rockhurst defeated Manhattan Christian 87-64 on Dec. 15, 2023, at Mason-Halpin.

In Emporia State's last game on Dec. 7, the Hornets defeated Missouri Western, 74-72. ESU (3-6) will face Sterling College on Tuesday night before meeting the Hawks on Friday.

Emporia State leads the all-time series, 6-3, since 2013 as the Hornets have won the last two matchups. Most recently, the Hawks fell 66-64 to the Hornets on Nov. 16, 2022, in Emporia.
