Women's Tennis post wins at ITA Midwest Regional

Sofia Valdespino advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA Midwest Regional.

The Rockhurst women's tennis team competed in the ITA Midwest Regional this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana.

RESULTS

Sophomore Sofia Valdespino and freshman Ella Coleman both won their first two matches and advanced to the Round of 16 in the Flight A singles. Junior Dani Lentisco won her first match in Flight A singles. Junior Maria Baez also won her first two matches in the Flight B singles.

Valdespino and sophomore Marina Magai won their first-round match over Wayne State by a 6-3 score in Flight A doubles. Baez and freshman Zuzanna Szmyd posted a first-round win over Quincy in Flight B doubles.

The Hawks will return to the courts on Sept. 23 at the Southwest Baptist Invitational in Bolivar, Missouri.
