Schmid leads Hawks at Ottawa Spring Invitational

Caleb Schmid tied for seventh with a 148 score.

The Rockhurst men's golf team finished in third place at the Ottawa Spring Invitational Tuesday at the Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas.

Caleb Schmid tied for seventh place to lead the Hawks to a 601 team score. The junior from Emporia, Kansas shot a 73 in the second round to finish with a 36-hole score of 148.

David Schilp shot a 70 in the second round to finish in a tie for 16th at 150. Mac Piles and Ben Elgas tied for 22nd place with 152 scores. Elijah Shirley tied for 51st place at 160.
