Elgas leads Hawks at Holiday Inn Express Invite

Ben Elgas led the Hawks with a 54-hole score of 215

The Rockhurst men's golf team tied for fifth place at the Holiday Inn Express Invitational Tuesday at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The Hawks shot a 286 on the second day to finish with a 54-hole score of 874. Missouri Southern won the team title at 850.

Ben Elgas led the Hawks, tying for 11th place at 215 (69-73-73). Caleb Schmid finished four shots behind Elgas in a tie for 20th place at 219 (76-73-70).

Andrew Park tied for 31st at 221 (77-72-72), David Schilp tied for 36th at 222 (75-76-71), and Elijah Shirley tied for 41st at 223 (75-75-73).
