Rockhurst meets fourth-ranked UMSL Tritons

Coach Drew Diener posted his 100th win at Rockhurst last week.
Rockhurst returns to Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Thursday at Mason-Halpin Field House against fourth-ranked Missouri-St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks (7-5, 2-2 GLVC) close out the weekend at home against Illinois Springfield on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Junior forward Rich Byhre scored a career-high 35 points to lead Rockhurst to a 75-71 win over William Woods last Friday to give Coach Drew Diener his 100th victory at Rockhurst. Byhre tops the GLVC in scoring (18.6 pg) and rebounding (10.3 pg).

UMSL (12-0, 4-0 GLVC) is coming off an 83-61 win over Parkside last Friday. Junior guard Isaiah Fuller leads the Tritons in scoring (14.7 pg) and rebounding (4.2 pg).

The Tritons have won five of the last seven meetings while splitting two games last year.

Springfield (9-3, 3-1 GLVC) plays at William Jewell Thursday before facing the Hawks on Saturday. The Prairie Stars are led by sophomore forward Jack Weber, who is averaging 13.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

The Hawks have won seven of the last eight meetings with Springfield.
