Eisenbarger earns All-Star honors coming out of the bullpen

Jack Eisenbarger returns to Kansas City this weekend to face the KC Monarchs.
Jack Eisenbarger is quickly making his mark in his first full season in professional baseball. The former Rockhurst left-handed pitcher is off to an impressive first half for the Gary SouthShore RailCats, who play in the independent American Association of Professional Baseball.

Eisenbarger was named to the East Division squad for the American Association All-Star Game, which will be played July 12 in Rosemont, Illinois. Eisenbarger has struck out 41 hitters in 28.1 innings as a reliever for Gary. He currently has one win and three saves with a 2.86 ERA in 11 appearances.

"I've been able to get ahead in the count which has been a big key," said Eisenbarger, who has not allowed a run on one hit with 11 strikeouts over 8.2 innings over his last three outings.

Eisenbarger was signed by Gary last summer after finishing his career at Rockhurst with a 9-2 record and 102 strikeouts during the 2021 season. He ended up with 18 career wins and 291 strikeouts in 236.2 innings at Rockhurst. He threw the only no-hitter in school history against Bemidji State in 2019.

"I usually pitch twice a week and am getting use to my role as a relief pitcher," added Eisenbarger, who started 37 games of his 44 games at Rockhurst.

The Kirkwood, Missouri native will be returning to Kansas City this weekend as Gary will play the Kansas City Monarchs on July 1-3 at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas. Eisenbarger last pitched at Legends Field when he was pitching in a high school tournament.
