Derosia earns GLVC Postgraduate Scholarship

Logan Derosia will play one more year on the RU women’s lacrosse team while she finishes her MBA degree.
Rockhurst's Logan Derosia has earned one of the two Great Lakes Valley Conference Postgraduate Scholarships, it was announced by the Conference office on Tuesday (May 24).

The GLVC Postgraduate Scholarship is awarded to one male and one female each year in the amount of $2,500 each to be used in the first year of post-graduate enrollment at the institution of their choice. Truman State football player Jacob Morris was the other GLVC Postgraduate Scholarship honoree.

A two-time Academic All-GLVC selection, Derosia will continue her academic career next year as a member of the Rockhurst women's lacrosse team while she finishes her Master of Business Administration degree. Derosia had a career year in 2022, topping her previous best of 40 goals in a season with a 42-goal campaign to lead the Hawks in a year where they won 10 games and qualified for the GLVC Championship Tournament. An All-GLVC Second Team selection, the attacker put 69 of her 84 shots on goal (.821) for the most shots on goal among her teammates and the second-best shots on goal percentage.

In the classroom, Derosia finished her undergraduate degree in December 2021 with a 3.93 GPA, majoring in business communications, political science, and Spanish. She began classes for her MBA before graduating earlier this month. After graduating, she wants to pursue her career in marketing where she can continue to engage with her community and pursue her passion for storytelling.

In order to qualify for consideration, the nominee must graduate by the end of the academic season – or by the end of the summer – of the application year, must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 (on a 4.0 grading scale), have competed in a GLVC-sponsored sport for at least two years, and be a member of a team in the year the scholarship is awarded. Each league member may nominate one male and one female from their respective institution.
