Hawks place eighth at GLVC Championship

The Rockhurst men's golf team finished eighth at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Saturday at the Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. The Hawks completed the three rounds of stroke play at 909 (299-298-312).

Jack Junge tied for sixth individually to lead the Hawks. Junge fired a final-round 74 to finish at 217 after shooting a 71 and 72 in the first two rounds.

Caleb Schmid tied for 24th at 225 (73-74-78) and Luke Brugman tied for 40th with a 233 score (76-76-81). Ben Elgas tied for 50th at 236 (81-76-79) and Brett Blau placed 62nd at 246 (79-85-82) to round out the Rockhurst team.

Missouri-St. Louis finished first in stroke play at 858, followed by Indianapolis at 872. Southern indiana was third at 880, while McKendree was fourth at 883. The top four teams advanced to medal play on Sunday, April 17.
