Volz earns All-GLVC Second Team honors

Nick Volz finished with career with 1,311 career points.

Rockhurst's Nick Volz has earned postseason honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The senior forward was named to the All-GLVC Second Team.

Volz finished his senior season with 1,311 career points and 686 rebounds. He currently ranks seventh in scoring (15.8), 11th in rebounding (6.4 pg) and eighth in assists (3.1 pg) in the GLVC. He scored a career-high 31 points against Quincy on Feb. 17, 2022.

Junior guard Jihad Thornton was named as Rockhurst's GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honoree.

These student-athletes have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.

The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
