Hawks face Truman State in GLVC Tournament

The Hawks are making their ninth trip to the GLVC Tournament.
The Rockhurst men, fresh off an 84-78 victory over Truman State, will face the Truman Bulldogs for the second time in three days in the first round of the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Kirksville, Missouri.

Rockhurst (11-19, 6-14 GLVC) finished 14th in the GLVC Point Rating System, while Truman (19-8, 13-6 GLVC) was awarded the third seed behind Southwest Baptist and Lewis.
The Hawks will making their ninth trip to the GLVC Tournament and will make their first appearance in the conference tourney since 2020. Rockhurst has a 1-8 all-time record in the GLVC Tournament and is looking for its first win since beating Kentucky Wesleyan in 2009.
Senior forward Nick Volz has combined for 760 points, rebounds and assists this season. He ranks seventh in scoring, 10th in rebounding and ninth in assists in the GLVC.


Truman was ranked first in the NCAA Midwest Regional rankings last week before losing to Southwest Baptist and Rockhurst. Junior forward Cade McKnight leads the GLVC in scoring (19.6 pg).

The GLVC, in partnership with BlueFrame Technology, is piloting a pay-per-view pass system for the 2022 GLVC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship Tournaments. All games will be available for purchase, including the first round on Feb. 28 at campus sites and the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals on March 3-6 in Edwardsville, Ill., at First Community Arena.
