KC Crown rivalry resumes Saturday at Jewell

Timaris Brown posted 15 points and 11 rebounds at Indianapolis.
The Kansas City Crown rivalry between Rockhurst and William Jewell resumes Saturday at 3 p.m. in Liberty, Missouri. The Hawks currently hold a 5-0 lead over the Cardinals in the KC Crown point standings heading into the first of their two men's basketball meetings this season.

Rockhurst (4-4, 2-1 GLVC) picked up a big road win at Indianapolis (71-61) last Saturday. The Hawks grabbed an 11-point halftime lead while shooting 63 percent from the field.

Rich Byhre (17.9 pg) and Jake Auer (11.9 pg) lead in the Hawks in scoring. Byhre ranks second in scoring, first in rebounding, third in field goal percentage, fourth in free throw percentage and fourth in blocked shots in the GLVC. Auer stands 21st in scoring and 10th in 3-point field goals made in the GLVC.

Jewell (5-6, 2-2 GLVC) is coming off a 101-70 victory over Kansas Christian College Wednesday night. Junior guard Jordan Jermain led the Cardinals with 25 points. Jermain ranks ninth in scoring (15.1 pg) in the GLVC.

The Cardinals have won the last three meetings after dropping five in a row to Rockhurst. The Hawks lead the all-time series, 90-78.

Students from each school will be admitted free during all Rockhurst-Jewell games when presenting a valid student ID at the gate, except for conference tournaments.
