Hawks return home for two non-conference games

Junior guard Nico Felici has started five games for the Hawks.
The Rockhurst men return to Mason-Halpin Field House for two games this week against Manhattan Christian College (Thursday at noon) and Avila (Saturday at 1 p.m.).

The Hawks saw their record fall to 4-5 after dropping two of three road games over the past two weeks. William Jewell collected a 79-62 victory over Rockhurst last Saturday in Liberty.

Rich Byhre leads the Hawks in scoring (17.1 pg) and rebounding (10.1 pg). The junior forward ranks in the top seven in the GLVC in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and blocked shots.

Manhattan Christian (5-5) is coming off a 73-58 loss at Doane College on Saturday. Senior guard Ferdinand Handy, Jr. leads the Thunder with a 15.4 scoring average.

This is the second meeting between Rockhurst and Manhattan Christian. The Hawks posted a 122-51 win over the Thunder on Dec. 13, 2019.

Avila (2-11) fell at home to Saint Mary, 84-70, on Tuesday. Senior guard Jaylin Dinkins leads the Eagles in scoring (10.0 pg) and 3-point field goals made (2.1 pg).
