Hawks sign sixth player in 2021-22 class

Davit Kakushadze played for Brewster Academy last season.

Head coach Drew Diener announced the signing of Davit Kakushadze of Tbilisi, Georgia on Thursday (July 22). The 6-7 forward is the sixth addition to Rockhurst's 2021-22 men's basketball class.

Kakushadze, a 6-7 forward, spent last season playing for Brewster Academy in Connecticut. He earlier played on the 2018 FIBA U18 and 2019 FIBA U20 European Championships (B Division) teams.

"I watched Davit play many times in FIBA competition and came away very impressed with his athleticism, size, and versatility," Diener said. "He spent one season at Brewster Academy, which will prove to be a great experience for him. He has competed with and against high level and older players for several years now. Both of his coaches enjoyed his competitiveness and willingness to be physical. I am excited to see him play with our guys."
