Hawks meet Missouri S&T for the second time this season

The Hawks have a seven-game winning streak over Missouri S&T.
Rockhurst hopes to return to the win column on Wednesday when the Hawks host Missouri S&T in a 5 p.m. tipoff at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (3-4) are searching for their first win since posting an 83-81 victory at Missouri S&T on Dec. 5. Senior guard Curtis Lewis led the Hawks with a career-high 33 points in the victory over the Miners.

Lewis ranks 22nd in the GLVC in scoring (14.6 pg) and ranks eighth among active career scorers in NCAA Division II with 1,409 points.

Senior guard Chris Hamil leads the Hawks in scoring (15.4 pg) and ranks 14th in NCAA D2 career active 3-point field goals made per game (2.54). Nick Volz (6.7 pg) and Quinton Curry (6.6 pg) both rank among the top 20 rebounders in the GLVC. Curry is 11th in D2 with 611 career rebounds.

Missouri S&T (2-6) is coming off an 84-78 loss at home over Illinois Springfield on Sunday. Freshman guard Julien Smith leads the Miners with an 18.4 scoring average.

Rockhurst has won the last seven meetings with S&T and leads the all-time series, 25-12.
