Rockhurst's Quinton Curry and Curtis Lewis received postseason awards from the Great Lakes Valley Conference prior to the 2020 GLVC Men's Basketball Tournament this weekend in Edwardsville, Illinois. Curry was named to the All-GLVC First Team and Lewis earned All-GLVC Second Team accolades.

Curry ranks 14th in scoring (15.6 pg), fourth in rebounding (7.8 pg) and 15th in blocked shots (0.8) in the GLVC. In conference games, he averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The West Des Moines, Iowa native was named to the All-GLVC Second Team in 2019 and the 2018 All-Freshman Team.

"This is a great honor for Quinton," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "He has established himself as a great player in this league. Our opponents strategize to take him away and he has been able to have very consistent productivity.

"Defensively, I believe his athleticism and mindset make him a great ball screen defender. I am proud of the improvement he has made in his decision making and passing since his sophomore year. His assist numbers have more than doubled from last year, which makes it more difficult for other teams to help and double team.

Curry led the team in scoring in 10 games and posted eight double-doubles. He scored a season-high 27 points at Emporia State on Nov. 22 and grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds at Davenport on Nov. 8.

"Quinton is a top-notch teammate and representative of our program all over campus, which doesn't show up in his box score, but makes an incredible impact to our success."

Lewis stands 16th in scoring (14.9 pg) and fifth in steals (1.7 pg). In conference games, he averaged 13.1 points and 2.9 assists per game. He was selected to the All-GLVC First Team in 2019 and was named the GLVC Freshman of the Year in 2018.

"Curtis is always a guy the other team has to prepare for because of his ability to get in the paint," Diener said. "I thought defensively his hands and determination to impact the game on that side of the floor was improved since last season. He is very coachable and resilient, which make him special in my eyes. When adversity hits, he is a guy you want on your side."

Lewis led the team in scoring in eight games and posted one double-double. He scored a season-high 30 points against Missouri Western on Dec. 21 and McKendree on Jan. 11.
