Men’s Basketball Virtual Tip-Off Social to feature Joe Lunardi

RU head coach Drew Diener will preview the upcoming college basketball season at the virtual Tip-Off Social . Al Wallace, left, will emcee the event.
The 100th season of Rockhurst men's basketball will kick off with the third annual Rockhurst Men's Basketball Tip-Off Club Social on Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m. The virtual event is free and open to all Rockhurst basketball fans.

Rockhurst head coach Drew Diener and special guest ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi will preview the upcoming college basketball season. Veteran Kansas City sports broadcaster Al Wallace will emcee the event.

"This event has quickly become a date that our current players, alums and fans have circled on their calendar," Diener said. "Despite not being able to get together in person this fall, I do believe our panel and guests will make for an enlightening and fun event. All great college basketball fans will appreciate the perspectives of Joe Lunardi and Al Wallace was outstanding as our emcee last year.

"I know our program feeds off the energy created by the Tip-Off Event. With a great core of guys returning this season, we have high hopes for a memorable season in 2020-21. We anticipate having another great turnout, albeit virtually."

To register for the Tip-Off Club Social, go to www.rockhurst.edu/tipoffoscial2020.

As part of the registration, fans are invited to join the "Give $100 to Celebrate 100" campaign to support the men's basketball program in their 100th season. All donors who give at least $100 will receive a special 100th season commemorative gift.
