Rockhurst captures KC Cup by 13 shots

Jack Junge shot a team-low two-under par 73 in the second round, including a 35 on the back nine.

The Rockhurst men's golf team captured the KC Cup by 13 strokes over William Jewell Tuesday at the Shoal Creek Golf Course in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Hawks shot a 301 on the second day to finish with a 36-hole score of 604. Jack Junge shot a team-low two-under par 73 in the second round, including a 35 on the back nine. He made 10 pars and three birdies.

Luke Brugman finished second on the individual leaderboard with a 148 score over 36 holes. The lefty from Wichita, Kansas shot a 74 for the second day in a row.

Junge placed third with a 149 score. Brett Blau tied for fifth at 154 and Cooper Stiles tied for seventh one shot behind Blau.

Freshman Caleb Schmid shot a 75 in the second round to tie for seventh individually. Freshmen Will Armstrong and Andrew Park both shot 76s on day two to finish in the top 10.
