The Second Annual Rockhurst Men's Basketball Tip-Off Club Social, presented by the John J. Sullivan Jr. Charitable Foundation, will be held on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.
"We are excited about this year's tip-off social. We had a great turnout last year with former Rockhurst head coach Jerry Reynolds as our guest speaker,"Â said Rockhurst head coach Drew Diener.
Mike Garrett will be the guest speaker. Garrett played five seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1966-70 and scored a touchdown in Super Bowl IV in the Chiefs' 23-7 victory over Minnesota. Garrett won the Heisman Trophy in 1965 at USC and later served as director of athletics at USC.

The Tip-Off Club is a special effort launched that will provide fans the opportunity to support the men's basketball program through their annual membership fee of $100 that includes a tax deductible donation to the R Club in support of the men's basketball program.
