Rockhurst's Jadyn Makovicka has been selected as the Baden Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for volleyball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

The freshman libero led the 17th-ranked Hawks to a perfect 4-0 week at the Harding Invitational in Searcy, Arkansas. She posted 66 digs (5.50 per set) with eight service aces (0.67 per set).

Makovicka averaged 6.33 digs per set in sweeping host Harding and Christian Brothers. She added nine assists and 8.0 points in earning her second Defensive Player of the Week award this season.

The Hawks (9-3) play at Pittsburg State Tuesday night and host McKendree in their homer opener Friday night.
