The Rockhurst women's lacrosse team, fresh off a big win over RMAC foe Colorado State-Pueblo, returns to Bourke Field Saturday to take on the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales (10:00 a.m.).
The Hawks were impressive in a 16-5 win over Pueblo last Friday, improving to 4-2 in conference play.
Marianna Anderson and
Logan Derosia combined for 12 goals in the win. That duo, tied for the team lead in goals with 39 apiece this season, will look to continue their good form in the non-conference showdown vs. JWU.
Hannah Miller (28 goals),
Audrey Ford (19 goals),
Maddi Scheipeter (11 goals) and
Olivia Collier (11 goals) have all started all 13 games and contributed to the high octane offense.
The Hawks have been strong in draw controls (plus-nine on the season) and turnover margin (plus-19). Scheipeter leads the team in draw controls with 51, while Derosia (41), Anderson (33) and
Hanna Meek (24) have been a strong unit, earning possessions.
The Hawks will look to maintain advantages in those areas and collect their ninth win of the season Saturday vs. Johnson & Wales (2-8).
