Hawks host Missouri Western Griffons

Rockhurst hopes to return to the win column Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks (4-4) host the Missouri Western Griffons (4-7) for the second time in three years.

The Hawks fell at home to the Avila Eagles, 80-78, Monday afternoon. Curtis Lewis led the Hawks with 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Nick Volz totaled 12 points and eight rebounds. Thomas Faber scored 12 points. Quinton Curry posted 10 points, four assists and three steals.

Lewis leads the Hawks in scoring (17.8 pg), steals (2.13 pg) and assists (3.5 pg). Curry is averaging 15.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while Volz sports averages of 13.8 points and 7.6 rebounds.

Western has dropped four of its last five games. The Griffons are coming off a 90-76 loss at Illinois Springfield Wednesday night.

Senior guard Tyus Millhollin led the Griffons with 28 points at Springfield. Freshman forward Will Eames posted a career-high 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Tyrell Carroll leads the Griffons with an 18.3 scoring average.
