Tough tests await Hawks away from home

The Rockhurst Hawks (10-7, 4-3) return to the road to face Indianapolis on Thursday (6:30 p.m. CST) and Lewis on Saturday (3 p.m.) in Great Lakes Valley Conference men's basketball matchups this week.

The Hawks currently rank eighth in the GLVC Point Rating System. Indianapolis (11-5, 4-2 GLVC) and Lewis (12-3, 4-2 GLVC) ranks sixth and fifth, respectively, in the GLVC Point Rating System.

Sophomore forward Quinton Curry ranks 13th in scoring (14.4 pg) and seventh in rebounding in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Chris Hamil stands 15th in scoring (14.2 pg) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Curtis Lewis ranks seventh in assists (4.0 pg) and 21st in scoring (13.4 pg) in the GLVC.

Indianapolis is coming off a 75-74 victory over Missouri S&T Monday night. The Hounds held an eight-point lead at the break before holding off the Miner attack. Marcus Latham and CJ Hardaway each finished with a game-high 18 points. Jesse Kempson leads the Greyhounds in scoring (16.3 pg) and rebounding (7.4 pg).

The Greyhounds won their last meeting with Rockhurst, 76-69, in Kansas City on Jan. 6, 2018. Indianapolis has won seven of the last eight meetings and leads the all-time series, 8-5.

Lewis posted a 99-70 win at Indianapolis last Saturday. Delaney Blaylock poured in a career-high 33 points and Kendale McCullum finished one rebound shy of a triple-double. McCullum leads the Flyers with a 15.8 scoring average.

The Hawks defeated the Flyers, 79-70, last year at Lewis. The Flyers lead the all-time series, 11-6.
