Weekend Preview: Soccer teams home for weekend matches

The Quincy Hawks come to town Friday for a soccer doubleheader at Bourke Field. The women will play at 5 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. Friday marks the opening of conference socceer games in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Rockhurst women (1-2-1) will look to rebound from a 2-0 loss to Mississippi College in their previous match last week in Memphis, Tennessee. The RU men (1-2) are also coming off a 2-0 loss (to Rogers State) last Saturday in Oklahoma.

Rockhurst will host Illinois Springfield on Sunday with the women starting at noon and the men at 2:30 p.m.

Volleyball returns home for two weekend matches
The 12th-ranked Hawks (10-2) notched their 10th win of the season, defeating Quincy on the road Tuesday night in four sets. Rockhurst returns home this weekend with matches against Illinois Springfield on Friday (7 p.m.) and McKendree on Saturday (3:00 p.m.).

Women's tennis hits the courts in Michigan
The Hawks travel to Allendale, Michigan for the ITA Women's Midwest Regional. Singles and doubles competition will begin on Saturday and conclude on Monday.

Cross Country will race in Joplin
The women's cross country team will race in the Southern Stampede 5K in Joplin, Missouri on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The Hawks finished in third place in their first two meets of the season.
