Walk-off single gives Hawks a 3-2 win over Grand Valley

Jeremy Lufft singled in the second and doubled in the ninth.

Box Score Garrett McNally singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Rockhurst a 3-2 victory over Grand Valley State in the Sunshine State Spring Games Friday in Kissimmee, Florida.

McNally's one-out single to left field scored Wylson Lamb from third base. Lamb reached base on an infield error to open the 10th inning and advanced to third on a failed pickoff play at first base.

The Hawks jumped out to 2-0 lead in the second inning. Alex Van Pelt singled home a run in the first and Colby Smith added an RBI single in the second.

Smith led the Hawks with three hits. McNally and Lufft had two hits apiece. Jack Eisenbarger held the Lakers scoreless on three hits over the final four innings to get his first win of the season.

The Hawks (3-6) close out their trip in Florida against Mansfield on Saturday.
