Rockhurst rallies for 3-2 victory over Quincy

Cameron Dean doubled home the winning run in Game 1.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Cameron Dean doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Rockhurst a 3-2 victory over Quincy in the first game of a conference doubleheader Sunday at RU's Loyola Park.

Dean's two-out double down the right field line scored Nick Pascuzzi, who tied the game with a two-out single to right field.

Tommy Kraus led the Hawks with two hits, including a run-scoring single in the fifth. Colby Smith also posted two hits. Tyler Crouse (1-2) allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Brock Collins got the last two outs to get first save of the season.

Quincy won the second game, 5-2, behind six extra-base hits. The visitors scored two runs in the first and added single tallies in the second, seventh and eighth.

Wylson Lamb and Alex Van Pelt each posted two hits and one RBI. The Hawks scored two runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Lamb and a run-scoring single by Van Pelt. Henry Weiler (0-1) allowed four runs on nine hits over 7.0 innings.

The Hawks (6-14, 1-3 GLVC) host Missouri S&T in a four-game series on Friday and Saturday.
