Colorado Mesa posts 16-8 victory over Rockhurst

Box Score Three players combined for 12 goals to lead Colorado Mesa to a 16-8 victory over Rockhurst in a Rocky Mountain Athletic game Wednesday at RU's Bourke Field.

The Mavericks jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first 22 minutes. The Hawks scored four unanswered goals to cut Mesa's lead to 7-5 at halftime. Mesa scored the first three goals of the second half and outscored Rockhurst 9-3 in the final 30 minutes.

Shayna Stevens led the Hawks with three goals and seven shots. Hannah Miller scored two goals on free position shots. Clare Goessling also finished with two goals.

Hanna Meek tallied three caused turnovers, two draw controls and one ground ball. Audrey Ford collected three draw controls and one goal. Marianna Anderson added three draw controls and one ground ball. Leena Nabulsi posted 12 saves and five ground balls.

The Hawks (6-3, 3-2 RMAC) host Westminster (Utah) on Friday.
