Hawks drop home opener to Central Missouri

Box Score Central Missouri ruined the home opener for Rockhurst as the Mules pounded out 22 hits in a 12-4 victory over the Hawks Tuesday at RU's Loyola Park.

The Mules scored four runs on four hits in the first inning. The Hawks cut UCM's lead to 5-3 in the third before the Mules scored four runs in the next three innings.

Cameron Dean led the Hawks with two hits and an RBI single in the sixth. Nic Mertes and Corbin Hare each posted two hits. PJ Seufert (0-2) allowed six runs in 3.1 innings.

The Hawks (4-7) host Fort Hays State on Wednesday.
