Curry leads Hawks with 31 points in loss at Truman

Truman State jumped out to a seven-point halftime lead on the way to an 82-71 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in Kirksville, Missouri.

The Bulldogs went on a 23-10 run early in the second half to take a 60-42 lead with 11:10 left. Rockhurst outscored Truman State 19-8 over the final seven minutes.


Quinton Curry led the Hawks with a career-high 31 points on 11 of 12 shooting, along with posting 13 rebounds. Curtis Lewis finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Travis House scored 13 points behind three three-pointers.


Rockhurst shot 46.3 percent from the field (25 of 54) and 33.3 percent from the 3-point line (seven of 21). Truman State made 27 of 57 field goals (47.4 percent) and nine of 19 three-pointers (47.4 percent).


The Hawks (11-11, 4-8 GLVC) return home to host Drury on Thursday.
