Hawks suffer first loss of season in Indy

Maddie Schiepeter led the Hawks with four draw controls.

Box Score Rockhurst suffered its first loss of the season, falling at 24th-ranked Indianapolis 20-6 on a cold and snowy Saturday in Indianapolis.

The Greyhounds scored the first seven goals of the game and led 9-3 at halftime. Indianapolis opened the second half on a 7-0 run.

Audrey Ford led the Hawks with three goals on three shots. Hannah Miller scored two points on a goal and an assist.

Maddi Scheipeter posted a team-high four draw controls. Jaylin Johnson tallied three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Bunga Spencer had three ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Leena Nabulsi finished with four saves. Hanna Meek added three caused turnovers, two draw controls and two ground balls.

The Hawks (2-1) host Ottawa on Saturday, February 24.
