Rockhurst posts 8-1 victory at Quincy

Emma Schelble won her No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches.

Emma Schelble won her No. 1 singles match in a third-set tie-breaker to lead Rockhurst an 8-1 victory over Quincy Friday in Quincy, Ill.

Schelble split the first two sets by 7-5 scores. She won the tie-breaker by a 10-8 scored. Janine Koleta, Kim Vrugteveen, Octavia Malin and Emma Persson also won in singles play for the second day in a row. Rockhurst swept the doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead.

The Hawks (10-4, 2-0 GLVC), who will play at Truman State on Saturday (April 8), are ranked fourth in the first NCAA Midwest Regional poll.
