Hawks rally for 5-4 win at Emporia State

Tamara Santos won her No. 4 singles match in a third-set tie-breaker to rally Rockhurst a 5-4 victory over Emporia State Thursday in Emporia, Kan.

Santos won the first set, 7-6, and dropped the second set, 6-4. She won the third set by a 10-8 score. Janine Koleta, Kim Vrugteveen, Octavia Malin and Emma Persson also won in singles play. Emporia State swept the doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead.

The Hawks (9-4, 1-0 GLVC), who will play at Quincy on Friday (April 7), are ranked fourth in the first NCAA Midwest Regional poll.
