Rockhurst drops opening games with Quincy

Brett Marr posted four hits in Game 1 Friday night.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockhurst opened a four-game conference series with Quincy on Friday night at Loyola Park with two losses. Quincy won the first game 12-5 and rallied for a 6-3 win in the second game.

The final two games of the series were postponed on Saturday due to rain. Rockhurst (20-23, 8-14 GLVC) and Quincy (27-16, 16-6 GLVC) will attempt to close out the series on Sunday.

Brett Marr led the Hawks with four hits and three runs scored in Friday's first game. Mitch Stickney collected two hits. Michael Lydon-Lorson (6-3) allowed five runs on 10 hits over 5.1 innings.

In the second game, Henry Weiler and Seth Soto each drove in a run in the third inning. Joe Huber (4-5) allowed six runs on 12 hits over 6.2 innings.
