Hawks collect 5-1 victory at Drury

Andrew Ellwanger held Drury to one run on five hits over seven innings.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Andrew Ellwanger threw a complete game five-hitter to lead Rockhurst to a 5-1 victory over Drury in the first game of a conference doubleheader Monday in Ozark, Mo.

Ellwanger held Drury to one unearned run over seven innings in posting his fourth victory of the season.

Seth Soto led the Hawks with two sacrifice flies and an RBI double in the fifth. Brett Marr posted three hits and scored three runs. Dylan Brauner added an RBI triple in the seventh.

Drury rallied to win the second game, 4-3. Drury scored three runs in the eighth to overcome a 3-1 deficit. Jacob Thigpen (0-3) allowed four runs on nine hits over 7.1 innings. Marr, David Stober and Alex Van Pelt each posted two hits.

Rockhurst (20-21, 8-12 GLVC) returns home to host Quincy in a four-game series April 29-30.
