Marr leads Hawks to 6-2 win at Maryville

Brett Marr hit a two-run home run in the Hawks' 6-2 win at Maryville.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Brett Marr posted three hits and two RBIs to lead Rockhurst to a 6-2 victory over Maryville in the first game of a conference doubleheader Saturday in St. Louis, Mo.

Marr singled and scored in the Hawks' three-run first inning. He hit a two-run home run to left field in the fifth and singled in the seventh.

Joe Huber (3-3) held the Tritons to two run on two hits while striking out four hitters. David Stober and Seth Soto each drove in a run and collected two hits.

Maryville won the final game of the four-game series, blanking the Hawks 4-0 on six hits. Nic Mertes led the Hawks with two hits. Andrew Ellwanger (3-3) allowed three runs on six hits with four strikeouts over seven innings.

The Hawks (16-12, 4-4 GLVC) play at Central Missouri on Wednesday (April 5).
