Rockhurst posts 19-3 win over Benedictine

Maddi Scheipeter led the Hawks with four goals and one assist.

Box Score Rockhurst connected on nine free position shots in cruising to a 19-3 victory over Benedictine Monday at Bourke Field.

The Hawks jumped out to a 12-2 halftime lead while scoring on five-of-seven free position shots. Rockhurst scored four of its seven goals in the second half on free position shots.

Maddi Scheipeter led the Hawks with five points on four goals and one assist. Shayna Stevens scored four goals with three free position shots. Madeline Gilstrap posted two goals and two assists.

Hannah Weisbrod added three goals on three free position shots. Tessa Boots and Tierney Buschbacher each collected two goals.

Rockhurst outshot Benedictine, 40-8. Buschbacher led the Hawks with six shots. Weisbrod and Scheipeter added five shots apiece. Scheipeter and Buschbacher each collected a team-high three draw controls. Weisbrod collected five caused turnovers. Leena Nabulsi posted four saves and three ground balls.

The Hawks (2-3) host Regis University on Friday (March 10).
