Hawks pound out 22 hits in 15-6 win in Florida

Jeremy Luftt led the Hawks with four hits in a 15-6 win over Cedarville.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Jeremy Lufft collected three doubles among his team-high four hits to lead Rockhurst to a 15-6 victory over Cedarville Monday in Clearwater, Fla.

The Hawks (7-2) pounded out 22 hits while scoring in every inning after the first inning. Rockhurst stranded 22 runners and left the bases loaded in the second, fourth and fifth innings.

Nic Mertes finished with three hits and two RBIs. Brett Marr posted three hits. David Stober, Henry Weiler and Corbin Hare each had two hits. Andrew Ellwanger (2-0) allowed three runs on nine hits over 6.0 innings.

On Sunday, the Hawks suffered a 7-5 loss to Ohio Valley. Marr, Weiler and Stober paced Rockhurst with three hits each. Jacob Thigpen (0-1) allowed four runs on five hits over 4.2 innings.

The Hawks play Oakland City and Tampa on Tuesday.
