Winning streak ends for Hawks in Florida

Michael Lydon-Lorson held Eckerd to one run on four hits while striking out eight over 7.1 innings.

Box Score Rockhurst saw its season-opening six-game winning streak end Saturday night in St. Petersburg, Fla. Eckerd College rallied for a 4-3 win over the Hawks in 10 innings.

The Hawks scored three runs in the eighth inning to take a 3-0 lead. Eckerd came back to score three runs in the bottom of the eighth with the help of two wild pitches. The Tritons scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk with one out in the 10th.

Wylson Lamb led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. He gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the eighth inning. Brett Marr singled home Lamb for the third run in the inning.

Rockhurst starter Michael Lydon-Lorson held Eckerd to one run on four hits while striking out eight over 7.1 innings. Brock Collins (0-1) took the loss after entering the game with two outs in the ninth inning.

The Hawks play Ohio Valley on Sunday morning in Clearwater, Fla.
