Weiler leads Hawks to pair of wins at Maryville

Henry Weiler combined for seven hits and four RBIs in a doubleheader sweep at Maryville.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Henry Weiler pitched five scoreless innings and drove in three runs on four hits to power Rockhurst to an 11-1 victory over Maryville in the second game of a conference doubleheader Friday in St. Louis, Mo.

Weiler (3-1) held the Saints to two hits and two walks while striking out three hitters. Weiler gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the first inning and added an RBI single in the sixth. Seth Soto posted two hits and drove in two runs.

Rockhurst collected 12 hits to win the first game, 4-1. David Stober and Weiler each posted three hits for the Hawks. Stober hit a two-run triple in the second and Weiler added a solo home run in the third. Michael Lydon-Lorson (5-1) allowed one run on nine hits with three strikeouts over nine innings.

The Hawks (15-11, 3-3 GLVC) close out the four-game series at Maryville on Saturday (April 1).
