The Rockhurst women opened the 2017 season with a 7-2 victory over Illinois Springfield Sunday at the Milburn County Club Indoor Courts.

Emma Schelble, Octavia Malin, Kim Vrugteveen, Tamara Santos and Emma Persson each won their singles matches. Vrugteveen and Santos each won in third set tiebreakers. The Hawks also won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
