Box Score

Quincy scored from the length of the floor with 1.8 seconds left to post a nailbiting 76-75 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night at the Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Ill.

Rockhurst (14-10, 8-8 GLVC) led for more than 36 minutes, only to lose the game on a Quincy shot at the buzzer, which was not confirmed until after an 11-minute video review by the officials.

Quincy's Joseph Tagarelli caught an 80-foot inbounds pass on the right side of the lane, took one dribble and made a spin move to the basket. His shot from 10 feet out beat the clock by less than a tenth of second.

Connor Evans made a free throw to give Rockhurst a 75-74 lead with 2.1 seconds left. He missed the second free throw and Quincy called a timeout after getting the rebound.

"We played tough; great team mindset tonight," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "This is a very difficult loss. We needed one more stop. We need to bounce back; that will measure our progress."

Malachi Nix led the Hawks with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kaleb Warner scored 15 points. Andrew Ellwanger posted 14 points and five rebounds. Evans collected 11 points, five rebounds and two steals. Alex Hagan added 10 points and five rebounds.

Rockhurst shot 46.8 percent (22 of 47) from the field. Quincy (22-5, 12-4 GLVC) made 27-of-58 field goals (46.6 percent). Tagarelli led Quincy with 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Hawks play at Truman State on Saturday (Feb. 18).
