Box Score 2 Michael Lydon-Lorson threw a complete game six-hitter to lead Rockhurst to a 4-2 victory over Missouri S&T in the first game on a conference doubleheader in Rolla, Missouri. The Miners came back to win the second game, 7-5.
Lydon-Lorson (4-3) allowed one unearned run while walking three and striking out 10 to win his second straight start.
The Hawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by
Seth Soto and
Brandon Mikulka.
Wylson Lamb broke a 2-2 tie with a solo home run in the second and
Mitch Stickney added a solo home run in the sixth.
In the second game, Missouri S&T scored five runs with the help of four errors in the third inning to take a 5-2 lead. The Hawks outhit the Miners, 13-8.
Brett Marr and
Joey Mancuso led Rockhurst with three hits and one RBI apiece.
David Stober and
Tim Mahoney each posted two hits.
Henry Weiler (5-2) allowed seven runs on six hits in 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out two.
The Hawks (15-16, 6-4 GLVC) close out the four-game series at Missouri S&T on Saturday, April 9.
