Box Score Rockhurst dropped its debut game in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, falling to Westminster College, 20-12, Sunday at Bourke Field.
Westminster jumped out to a 10-6 halftime lead. The Griffins scored five unanswered goals in the second half to take a 15-7 lead.
Hannah Weisbrod led the Hawks with three goals and one assist.
Madison Naes and
Hanna Meek added two goals apiece.
Madeline Gilstrap,
Tessa Boots,
Tierney Buschbacher and
Shayna Stevens each posted one goal and one assist.
Westminster (1-1, 1-0 RMAC) outshot the Hawks 32-31. Weisbrod paced the Hawks with 10 shots. Naes tallied  five shots and Stevens added four shots.
Maddi Scheipeter had a team-high five ground balls.
Kathy Perkins and
Natalie Washington combined for 10 saves for Rockhurst.
The Hawks (2-3, 0-1 RMAC) host Fort Lewis on Tuesday, March 8.
