Rockhurst drops pair to Parkside Rangers

Brett Marr led the Hawks with two hits in Game 1.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Wisconsin-Parkside rallied for a 3-2 victory over Rockhurst in the second game of a doubleheader to complete a sweep over the Hawks Saturday in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Parkside broke a 2-2 tie with a game-winning two-out single in the bottom of the seventh. The Rangers scored two runs in the fourth to tie the score.

Corbin Hare gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead with a pair of solo home runs in the second and fourth innings. Hare and Mitch Stickney each posted two hits to lead the six-hit Rockhurst offense. Henry Weiler (1-1) allowed three runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings.

The Rangers won the first game, 9-1, while collecting 13 hits. Rockhurst had more errors (five) than hits (four). Brett Marr led the Hawks with two hits. Michael Lydon-Lorson (1-1) allowed seven runs on 10 hits over 5.2 innings.

The Hawks (3-4) play a nine-inning game against Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday in Jacksonville.
